Apple Slice Pumpkin Butter Donuts are a super easy and super kid friendly snack you can make anytime.
Apples with nut butters have always been a yummy snack but I tend to get bored with food. If there is a way to change it up a little and make it new again I do. That is where this idea came from. Remember you can always change things up in the kitchen. Don’t be afraid to take an old recipe and give it a new twist. In the long run changing things up always tends to save me money. It’s either change it up in my kitchen for spend way too much money eating out.
I have always loved apples and peanut butter as a snack. After deciding to live a polish lifestyle I fell in love with almond butter. Do I crave peanut butter sometimes, of course I do. What do I do when I’m craving peanut butter? Well, I eat peanut butter.
For those you you that don’t know why peanut butter is not Paleo I’m about to tell you. Peanuts are NOT nuts. That’s right people. Not a nut. Peanuts are legumes. Legumes are NOT a Paleo friendly food. So, I eat other nut butters instead (most of the time). Apple Slice Pumpkin Butter DonutsPrint Recipe
- 1 apple
- 4 tbsp canned pumpkin puree
- 2 tbsp nut butter
- 1 tbsp chocolate chips
- 2 tbsp sliced almonds
- 1 tsp pumpkin spice
Combine the pumpkin and nut butter in a small dish. Stir until well combined and creamy. If nut butter is too warm or extra oily chill in the refrigerator prior to combining with pumpkin puree for easier spread-ablilty.
Slice apple into thinner slices removing the center's core and seeds
Spread the pumpkin nut butter onto the apple slices and top with your favorite topping like chocolate chips and sliced almonds
Sprinkle as much pumpkin spice as you like over the apple donuts and of course enjoy your healthy snack!
